Imagination Fair Volunteers
Volunteering is a great way to meet other homeschoolers and build friendships within the homeschool community!
Volunteer for the day of the Imagination Fair
- 5-Minute Mentors — all parents are encouraged to volunteer as a 5-Minute Mentors. It’s an amazing, exhilarating, incredible experience!
- Exhibit Area Pre-Set-Up: 4 families (6 to 8 adults plus older children) willing to arrive at 9am to help move tables and chairs, post signage, wipe down tabletops, and otherwise set up the Exhibit and Check-In areas for the exhibitors by 9:30am.
To ensure that volunteer event organizers have the space set up for exhibitors on time and with as little interruption as possible, no exhibitor set-up is allowed until 9:30am. That includes set-up by the volunteer event organizers’ own children during this time period.

- keep mentors out of the Exhibit area until 10am so that exhibitors may set up their exhibits on time as well as visit each other's exhibits with as little interruption as possible
- Because Greeters will be busy helping Exhibitors and Mentors check-in during the set-up period, they won’t be free to help their children with their Exhibit set-up. This task works best for parents whose children can set-up independently or who have another parent (or other adult) available to assist their children with set-up.
- Greeters for guests: 4 to 8 volunteers willing to staff the door for 30-minute periods and greet guests, ensuring that they are aware of ...
- Exhibit Catalogs
- Exhibit Bingo
- exhibit map
- Bingo Prize Distributor: 1 or 2 volunteers willing to staff a prize table and hand out prizes to guests who complete an Exhibit Bingo card.
This is generally done by a parent who wishes to stay by their Exhibitor during the Imagination Fair. Extra table space is provided next to their Exhibit for the prizes.
- Signature Collector for Thank You Card: To keep the entry area for becoming jammed with Exhibitors waiting for their turn to sign the Thank You Card and to make sure everyone does sign the card before they leave, we put the card on a clip board and asking a volunteer to bring it about to Exhibitors in the Exhibit area to sign. We'll give you a checklist to help you keep track of who has and hasn't signed yet.
- Photographers: 2 to 4 or more volunteers willing to take photos of each exhibitor, exhibitors talking to mentors, and the event in general and for the Imagination Fair to use. This involves having a method of transferring your digital files to Nic Rosenau! You may use whatever method works best for you. Nic will adapt.
- Clean up crew: All exhibitors are expected to help clean up the Exhibit area, but we need 4 families willing to coordinate the clean up and ensure the Exhibit area is spotless by 1pm.
The best way to volunteer is sign up via SignUpGenius — but you may also volunteer via email.

Advertisements
You can help the Volunteer Event Organizers defray the costs of the Imagination Fair by purchasing an Exhibit Catalog advertisement or by asking your friends, families, colleagues, and neighbors to consider this unique opportunity to promote their organizations to homeschoolers and their friends and families. The Exhibit Catalog is a quality keepsake item, so ads will not be simply tossed into the recycling at the end of the event!
