PLACE TO MEET: at the playground by the parking lot ... we will be walking up the trail to the nature center at 9:55, so if you arrive after that, following the signage to the nature center
LATE ARRIVALS: Ask at the nature center for assistance. Please plan to be early to avoid being late.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Children will safely observe honeybees and watch honey collection during a naturalist led exploration of this 150-acre natural area featuring marsh, woods and restored prairie providing homes for many animals including deer, fox, mink and owls as well as honeybees. Dress of a woodlands hike, and bring along a bag lunch. We will picnic together at the playground after our adventure.
COST: $5/child ages 3 and up

AGE REQUIREMENTS: This is a family activity -- for parents and children (including siblings). While this activity will be geared towards the skills and interests of 3 to 6 year olds, both younger and older children are welcome to join us as well.

DIRECTIONS: The nature center is located just south of I-394 and east of Highway 169.
From Hwy. 169, exit on Cedar Lake Rd, turn right (eas), go 1 mile to Texas Ave (first stoplight), turn left (north) to Franklin Ave (first stopsign), turn left, go approximately 4 blocks to the Nature Center entrance (on right hand side).
From Hwy. 100, take I-394 west followed immediately by the Louisiana Ave exit.
From I-394 west, exit on Louisiana Ave. At the top of the hill, turn left, cross over bridge, turn right on Wayzata Blvd (frontage road) for approximately 1/2 mile, turn left on Texas Ave for approximately 1/2 mile, turn right on Franklin Ave, go approximately 4 blocks to the Nature Center entrance (on right hand side).
From I-394 east, exit at General Mills Blvd, turn left onto General Mills Blvd, turn left on Wayzata Blvd (frontage road) for approximately 1/2 mile, turn left on Texas Ave for approximately 1/2 mile, turn right on Franklin Ave, go approximately 4 blocks to the Nature Center entrance (on right hand side).
