Who: This program is designed for children ages 7-10. Younger siblings may attend but should be enrolled if they wish to participate. Children must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
Non-enrolled siblings may accompany their parents but may not participate in the program. Parents are asked to use their best judgement as to whether or not their non-participating children will be disruptive to the program.

Description

Find lunch in the woods! We'll learn how to identify common edible plants, go collect them, and the prepare them. We'll end the day with a tasty meal made up of wild edibles.

Payment information

Payment must be received by: Thu, May 31, 2012 - 5:00pm

1. Immediately after you register, you will be sent an email confirmation and payment instructions from "admin(at)homeschoolrecess(dot)com". Make sure your email filters recognize this address as a legitimate sender. If you don't receive this email, please check your spam, junk or bulk mail folder. Contact the organizer if you are unable to find it; if you receive no response to your email, please call the organizer.
2. Please plan to send your payment the same day that you register. If you are unable to do so, you must forward your payment instructions to the organizer within 72 hours to confirm your registration . You are not officially registered until the organizer receives either your payment or your forwarded instructions. If the organizer doesn't hear from you one way or the other within 72 hours, your family may removed from the registration list. This protects the organizer from non-payment due to payment instructions blocked by overly aggressive spam protection.
3. When the organizer receives your payment, you will be emailed a payment receipt from admin(at)homeschoolrecess(dot)com. The organizer updates payment records daily. If you've sent your payment and haven't received a payment confirmation, please contact the organizer by email or phone.
4. Please make your payment promptly. If the organizer doesn't receive payment by the payment deadline, your family may be removed from the registration list.
5. If you need to cancel your registration, please do so via an email request to the organizer. Non-payment is not an acceptable way to cancel your registration.

(1a) If your circumstances change and you find that are unable to attend, please let the organizer know as soon as possible via email.

(2a) No refunds will be issued after the cancellation deadline. 
(2b) If you must cancel for any reason after the cancellation deadline, you will be responsible for finding someone to take your family's reserved places and for letting the organizer know about the substitution. 
(2c) Reimbursements will be handled privately between you and your substitute.

(3a) If you find that you are unable to attend on the day of the event, please let the organizer know as soon as possible by email or phone. 
(3b) Please attempt to find a last-minute substitute for your family via the HSAdventures Yahoo Group as well as any other other methods at your disposal.

(4) It is not acceptable to just not show up. You must let the organizer know if you are unable to attend. Please do not register for this event unless you're able to make a personal commitment to attend barring illness or other unexpected emergency.

Additional information

Please arrive by:

Please plan to arrive no later than 1:15pm in order to have plenty of time to find parking, check in with the organizer, visit the bathrooms and otherwise prepare for our program to start promptly at 1:30pm. Please plan to be early to avoid being late due to inadequate maps, confusing road signs, road construction, heavy traffic, parking difficulties, inclement weather or uncooperative children. If you find that despite your best efforts, you are running unavoidably late, please let the organizer know! You may reach the organizer by phone or email on the day of the event.

Where to meet:

Please meet the organizer in the playground by the parking lot. The organizer will be wearing a bright yellow hat and a Homeschool Adventures button. Please retrieve your receipt and name badges from the organizer when you arrive as this is how she will check-in participants. If you arrive after 1:15pm, you will find the group at the nature center, which is up the pathway from the parking lot. 

Alternate plans:

Please be aware that portions of this program will be outside. Please plan accordingly and dress appropriately. This Homeschool Adventure will not be cancelled due to weather.
