Winter Recreation: Nordic Skiing for Families
Minnesota’s winter weather has been unpredictable lately, but if we have 4 inches of snow, we’ll be out on it! You will learn the basics of classic Nordic skiing including balancing, how to stop and go, and going up and down gentle hills. You will be prepared to ski Tamarack’s beginner loop!

  • Rental equipment available for an additional $5 (please arrive 30 minutes early to allow for check out procedure).
  • We recommend you dress in multiple synthetic or wool layers, plus hats and mittens.

5-6 year olds will determine what makes an animal an animal, observe some animals up close and make a habitat for a living creature. 7-9 year olds will look at the difference between plant and animal cells through a microscope, see how scientists sort animals by groups, and explore animal adaptations through hands-on activities. 10-13 year olds will use motion modules to create creatures with characteristics from the zoological world.
