Homeschool Art Adventures: Halloween Folk Art
Join other home school families for hands-on nature and arts activities every Wednesday morning. By combining the arts with math and science concepts, we will create a unique and enriching learning experience you won't want to miss! Join us to learn about the origins of Halloween and the popular folk arts that have accompanied the holiday throughout the years. We'll make projects to take home inspired by Halloween folk art. Reservations required.
Restricted to participants age 5 to 9.
The fee for this event is $5.00.

Join other home school families for hands-on nature and arts activities every Wednesday morning. In the first series of classes, we'll use clay to explore the texture and form of our natural world.
Session 1: Introduction to Clay- Handbuilding
Grimm Farm Day for Homeschoolers
Step back in time and explore a restored 1870's farmhouse. In the morning imagine you are leaving your home forever and traveling over 5000 miles across the ocean and half a continent to start a new life in a foreign land. Learn about Wendelin Grimm's journey and discover the items many immigrants brought with them on the journey. In the afternoon get hands-on experience of work and play activities typical to life on a late 19th century Minnesota farm. Sign up for a.m., p.m. or both sessions. Reservations required.
Homeschool Science Club: Ice and Snow
5-6 year olds will make frost, paint with ice and experiment with insulation and conduction. 7-9 year olds will make a comet, see a snowstorm in a box and make a frosty treat. 10-13 year olds will measure the resistance of ice and snow and use this data to create a range of crazy sound effects.

Homeschool Science Club: Newton's Figments
5-6 year olds will learn about Sir Isaac Newton's laws by playing with objects at rest and in motion. 7-9 year olds will play with objects at rest and in motion. 10-13 year olds will design a marble run from top to bottom. Use digital technology to influence gravity and inertia.

Homeschool Science Club: Zoology
5-6 year olds will determine what makes an animal an animal, observe some animals up close and make a habitat for a living creature. 7-9 year olds will look at the difference between plant and animal cells through a microscope, see how scientists sort animals by groups, and explore animal adaptations through hands-on activities. 10-13 year olds will use motion modules to create creatures with characteristics from the zoological world.

Hey, isn't that a life cycle ripening in the garden? Play Life Cycle Bingo and search for plants in all stages of their lives. Start a pumpkin seed investigation. Compare the "insides" of pumpkins and their relatives. Estimate a giant pumpkin's weight. TAKE HOME INVESTIGATIONS!
