DESCRIPTION: Three things are essential for a fantastic trip through the solar system: a cardboard rocket, a helpful astronomy textbook, and a measure of imagination. In this new full-dome version, we'll climb aboard a magical cardboard rocket with two young adventurers and experience a breathtaking, up-close look at each of our solar system's planets with guidance from a wise Astronomy Book. We'll land on Venus, Mars and Pluto, fly through the Great Red Spot on Jupiter, and view the other planets and the Sun from close vantage points, learning interesting facts about each body. The movie is preceded by a short live presentation on how to locate any planets that are currently visible in the evening hours.

ADDRESS:
780 W Wheelock Pkwy
Saint Paul
The Planetarium is southwest of Larpenteur and Dale and northeast of Victoria and Maryland. It is NOT in Como Park which is farther to the west on the other side of Lake Como. The Planetarium occupies the northwest corner of Como Park Elementary School.
PARKING: Free parking on site. There is limited parking available in the west parking lot immediately outside the Planetarium doors. Ample parking is available in the east parking lot on the other side of the school. The school requests that Planetarium visitors not take the (admittedly warmer and dryer) shortcut through the school building, but instead use the sidewalks outside to walk the 1/2 block from the east parking lot to the Planetarium doors.
