Description
Check-in starts at 12:30 pm.
Tubing starts at 1:00 pm.
Speed down the tubing hill at Elm Creek then catch a ride back to the top on a moving sidewalk.
If you like sledding, you’ll love snow tubing. Ride a moving sidewalk up a hill 10 stories high and then soar back down on a specially designed inner tube. Once you get to the bottom, do it all over again.
There are steeper, faster chutes for the more daring and easier, slower chutes for those looking for a more laid-back ride.
All of the tubing lanes are designed for safety and fun. All you need are warm winter clothes — Three Rivers supplies the rest.
Dress for winter weather and wind! Winter coat, snow pants, snow boots, and waterproof mittens are necessities. A balaclava and snow goggles are recommended.
The Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area makes snow so we can tube even if it is warm!
Tubers are allowed to loop their tubes together to make trains or rafts to go down together. The number of tubes that can be looped together is determined by snow conditions, and we'll be told the limit for current conditions when we arrive. The limit may be as small as 4 or as big as “however many you guys can pull together.” There is one extra-wide chute that can accommodate the really big trains. The limit may also change over the course of the 2 hours of tubing.
Elm Creek staff request that everyone tubing (meaning all adults and all kids) watch this very short safety video before arriving. It's less than 3 minutes long, so watch it now.
Refresh page if the video does not appear, or click here to watch it on YouTube.
Elm Creek staff will also give a less-than-5-minute safety talk prior to allowing us to head out to tube tubing, so please plan to be early to avoid being late!
Signed waiver required.
Elm Creek staff will count all names listed on all the signed waivers and compare that number to our reported totals before we will be issued our tubing tickets, so please plan to arrive early with your waiver already correctly completed and signed.
- Print the name of every family member who is going tubing.
- Include all adults and all children going tubing.
- Do not include the names of any non-tubing adult chaperones or of any non-tubing siblings.
- All tubing adults must sign and date the waiver next to their printed names.
- Print your full address and phone number.
- Every family member listed on a single waiver must reside at the same address.
- A parent or legal guardian of the listed minors must sign and date the bottom of the form.
- A parent (or legal guardian) who is also tubing will sign the liability waiver twice — once as a participant and then again as parent/guardian.
- If you have more than four family members going tubing, please complete a separate form for the additional families members — but do not duplicate any names as it will throw off the count.
If you are bringing someone else's kid(s), do not forget to get a completed-and-signed waiver when you get the kid(s). If someone else is bringing your kid(s), do not forget to hand over a completed-and-signed waiver when you hand over the kid(s). No waiver means no tubing, no exceptions.
(There will be printed waiver on-site if you forget the waiver for your own family, but the check-in will go smoother and quicker if everyone comes prepared with a completed-and-signed waiver.)
Clarification on the rule, "Riders must be at least 4 years of age or 36-inches tall."
- A 3-year-old who is 36-inches or taller may snow tube.
- A 4-year-old who is less than 36-inches-tall may snow tube.
Additionally, …
- Elm Creek staff do measure "anyone looking small."
- All riders must be in their own tubes — young children may not ride down in a tube with an adult.
No other groups are scheduled for this date.
The chalet interior has a large fireplace and seating for 184 people.
Leave your valuables at home. The chalet has generously-sized cubbies but no lockers or other secure storage.

You will be notified with an email from admin(at)homeschoolrecess(dot)com should this unfortunate event occur.
If you are unable to send payment immediately, please contact the organizer to make other arrangements. This protects the organizer from non-payment due to payment instructions blocked by overly aggressive spam protection.

Non-payment is not an acceptable way to cancel your registration. If you wish to cancel, please be respectful of the volunteer organizer's time and send an email request.
