Como Planetarium is a program of Saint Paul Public Schools and is located inside Como Elementary. It is not associated with or located on the grounds of Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The 60-seat planetarium has been in operation since 1975 and has served more than 600,000 students over the years. The planetarium has a 30-foot dome and is equipped with a Automated Spitz Model 512 star projector and a full dome immersive video system. The star projector accurately displays 3,500 stars, sun, moon and five visible planets. The immersive video system utilizes a data scaling software called Uniview. With access to data from major observatories, NASA satellites and space craft, Univeiw makes it possible to travel across the universe. The immersive video system is also capable of presenting full dome video productions.
Note: This is the same program previously offered under the title Larry Cat in Space on April 15, 2009.

If the organizer doesn't receive payment by the payment deadline, your family may be removed from the registration list.

Additional information
Please arrive by:
Please plan to arrive no later than 9:45am in order to have plenty of time to find parking, check in with the organizer, visit the bathrooms and otherwise prepare for our program to start promptly at 10am. Please plan to be early to avoid being late due to inadequate maps, confusing road signs, road construction, heavy traffic, parking difficulties, inclement weather or uncooperative children. If you find that despite your best efforts, you are running unavoidably late, please let the organizer know! You may reach the organizer by phone or email on the day of the event. LATE ARRIVALS: If you are unavoidably late, please enter the planetarium quietly and close the door behind you as quickly as possible as the light from the lobby disrupts the visibility of the presentation.
Where to meet:
Please meet the organizer in the planetarium lobby unless directed elsewhere by the staff. The organizer will be wearing a bright yellow hat and a Homeschool Adventures button. Please retrieve your receipt from the organizer when you arrive as this is how she will check-in participants.
Alternate plans:
This Homeschool Adventure will not be cancelled due to weather. Please plan accordingly.
Parking information:
Free parking on site. There is limited parking available in the west parking lot immediately outside the Planetarium doors. Ample parking is available in the east parking lot on the other side of the school. The school requests that Planetarium visitors not take the (admittedly warmer and dryer) shortcut through the school building, but instead use the sidewalks outside to walk the 1/2 block from the east parking lot to the Planetarium doors
