Location

818 S 2nd St
Minneapolis, MN Minneapolis
United States
See map: Google Maps

The Guthrie boasts three stages, a full-service restaurant with pre-show dining, and some of the best views of Minneapolis to be found in the city.

Wurtele Thrust Stage reaches out into the audience with seating on three sides putting patrons at the center of the action as actors enter and exit the stage from backstage, through an intricate collection of trap doors and elevators, and directly through the audience.

McGuire Proscenium Stage features a "picture frame" rectangular opening, allowing the entire audience to experience the play from the same vantage point and focusing on the subtleties of characters' psychological development.

Dowling Studio provides a totally flexible and well-equipped performance space inspired by the unique history and character of the "black box," which originated in the off-off-Broadway movement of the 1960s.

Metro Transit: The nearest MetroTransit bus stop for the Guthrie is the Route 7 or Route 22 stop on the corner of Washington Ave at Chicago Ave. For light rail, use the Downtown East/Metrodome Station stop.

Parking Information: Parking is available in the ramp on S 2nd St directly across from the Guthrie and in numerous parking lots throughout the neighborhood. The event rate for Guthrie performances is $8. Rates vary during other area events.
