Leonardo's Basement is an innovative educational organization for children and their families that offers an imaginative learning environment where girls and boys ages 6 to 16 design and build their creative ideas, mixing art, science and technology.


Leonardo's Basement is located in south Minneapolis, just west of I-35W, at 4301 Nicollet Ave S, under the Anodyne Coffeehouse. The entrance is on 43rd St, near the alley.

Street parking only (no meters - free)

From the South:
Take I-35W to the Diamond Lake Rd exit and continue to the stoplight. Turn left on Diamond Lake Rd / 54th St and travel three blocks to Nicollet Ave. Turn right on Nicollet and travel eleven blocks to 43rd St. Turn right on 43rd St and look for parking on the street. Leonardo's Basement is on your right, look for the brightly colored mural.

From the North/East:
Take I-35W to the 35th/36th St exit and continue on the frontage road five blocks past the tennis center to the stoplight on Nicollet Ave (you will be on 40th St). Turn left on Nicollet and travel three blocks to 43rd St. Turn left on 43rd St and look for parking on the street. Leonardo's Basement is on your right, look for the brightly colored mural.
