Description
Registration opens on Tue 8 Sep 2020
In the Event Space at Fantasy Flight Games Center, which is located 1½ blocks west of Rosedale Center.
Makers Market is a space for homeschooled students to show and sell their creations!
Makers Market is an opportunity for area homeschooled children to explore entrepreneurship, practice financial resources management and explore possibilities for their future!
It's also a chance for kids to make cool stuff, show it off, and earn some cash!
Games, toys, clothing, artwork, writings, etc. If you made it, you can sell it at the Makers Market!
Sales: Each maker is responsible for their own sales. You should be prepared to make change for cash purchases. You might want to set up to accept payments via Square or PayPal Here on your smartphone.
This is a cooperative event!
- All registered makers are expected to help ensure a successful event for everyone by working to promote their own booth and the Makers Market in general to their family, friends, neighbors, and community!
- All registered makers are expected to help with both set up and clean up.
- To avoid disruption to other makers and their shoppers (and to improve your own sales), all makers should plan to be set up and ready to sell by 1pm.
set-up period for all makers: | 12:30pm–1pm
showing & selling: | 1pm–6pm
clean-up period for all makers: | 6pm–6:30pm |
- If a registered maker sees something to be done, the maker should offer to do it!
This event is wholly created by YOU. Makers Market is the homeschool families who sign up to make and sell — meaning homeschooling moms, homeschooling dads, and their creative entrepreneurial homeschooled makers! Creating this event is an all-volunteer effort so we need all hands on deck volunteering to help make it awesome!

Additional information
Please arrive by:
All makers should plan to arrive by 12:30pm in order to have plenty of time to find parking, check in with the organizers, set up your sale space, visit the bathrooms and otherwise be prepared for our market to open on time. Please plan to be early to avoid being late due to inadequate maps, confusing road signs, road construction, heavy traffic, parking difficulties, inclement weather or uncooperative children.
Where to meet:
Makers Market will be held in the backroom of Fantasy Flight Games Center, which is also known as the Event Space. Walk past the cafe and retail store and then through the front gaming room.
Food policy:
Fantasy Flight Games Center has a lovely café offering a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, espresso drinks, and more so NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED. Please plan to support Fantasy Flight Games Center and show appreciation for their generosity in providing us with this space by purchasing any meals, snacks or beverages from the café. (Food sales at Maker Booths are allowed, provided the maker is in compliance with Minnesota’s Cottage Food Law.)
Alternate plans:
• The Makers Market will not be canceled due to adverse weather, so please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time if necessary. • In the unlikely event that Fantasy Flight Games Center should cancel our reservation, you will be notified and a rescheduled date or location will be sought by the organizers. Any refunds will be at the sole discretion of Fantasy Flight Games Center. • This event may be canceled due to low enrollment (that's not a real risk, just a theoretical one). Should that occur, your contribution towards covering the costs of holding the Makers Market will be returned to you.
Parking information:
There is a medium-sized parking lot on site. We want to encourage shoppers, so please unload at the door and then MOVE YOUR CAR further down the lot or across the street to overflow parking. Please read and respect all signage when parking your vehicle. You will be towed if you park where you are not allowed to park.
